Spring Bird Song Workshop, 2 hours in the field with a 30 minute online presentation
Service Description
Duration 2 hours in the field plus a 30 minute pre-recorded presentation (link will be sent about a week before walk date). This walk will focus on a mix of common and specialist New Forest species that can be heard in spring, each walk focussing on different species: April 7th (0700-0900) : Lesser and Great Spotted Woodpecker as well separating similar species such as Goldcrest and Firecrest and other specialist species such Crossbill. April 20th (0700-0900): Heathland songsters such as Woodlark, Sklylark, Meadow Pipit and Dartford Warbler along with thrushes and finches of the woodland edge and open areas. May 5th (0700-0900): A focus on woodland warblers, common woodland birds such as Marsh & Coal Tit and Nuthatch and specialist woodland species including Hawfinch and Redstart May 18th (0700-0900): Looking at common coastal species with a focus on common song birds such as Whitethroat, Reed Warbler and breeding waders. All trips are taken at a relaxed pace, aimed at all levels of experience. More information will be sent with joining details.
