Service Description
Three Hour Birding Looking for seasonal highlights Join us for this three hour birding walk in the New Forest. This small group size trip will take a relaxed pace looking for and discussing all aspects of the bird life within the forest. Focusing on seasonal highlights and other classic New Forest woodland species. We will be in the field for 3 hours stopping for regular breaks (please bring your own supplies). We will take our time looking at ID features and discussing behaviour and movements of each species. The meeting point will differ each month as we will be looking for seasonal specialties in different habitats, provisional schedule: Jan - coastal birds Feb - Goshawk & Woodlark Mar - Lesser Spotted Woodpecker & scarce woodland species Apr - Hawfinch May - Dartford Warbler June - Nightjar July - raptors Sep - wader ID Oct - autumn migrants Nov - winter thrushes Dec - wildfowl ID Full joining details will be sent a few days ahead of the trip.
